BERENSTAIN BEARS

WHAT: The Berenstain Bears was a television cartoon based around a bear family, the Berenstains. Papa bear reckoned he was an expert on almost everything although Mama bear was the real brains in the family, often driven to despair by the untidiness of her children's room. Sister bear loved her Bearbie and wanted to jump rope to 1000 while Brother bear loved soccer and building model aeroplanes.

WHEN: They first appeared in book form in 1962, the TV cartoons came later.

WHY: They made getting up early on Saturday mornings worth it.

CHANCE OF REVIVAL: The likelihood of seeing them again is beary slim.
